Here it is nearly June and the thermometer goes down to 57 degrees, really nothing can be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning. Now Wednesday appeal's to be a full day for Tryonites. It’s a half holiday with picnics and games and fun. The closing exercises at the school for varous awards and certificates will be held at 9 a. m. The Masons are having an annual chicken supper and outing at Har mon Field at 7 o’clock. It’s to be an occasion of fun and fellow ship with members of their fami lies. That night at 8 o’clock the w.niHMH'emeiit exercises will be ’sjf'd in the school auditorium with Dr. Paul A. Reid, an out standing educator as the speaker. Dr. Reid has a charming person ality and will delight his audience. . . . . The Spartanburg Better hiving Show which has been ad vertising in The Bulletin, will continue through Thursday from 8 to 10 p. m., and now Homier sonville is advertising its Dollar Days in The Bulletin. The Post Office and Tryon Bank will be closed all day FRIDAY for Na tional Memorial Day, but Saturday is electon day. By 1950 it had risen to $581—but this figure was still r‘ar below the national average.
